A drive-in cinema is coming to Bath Racecourse in July

Posted on: 25 Jun 2020

Enjoy the magic of the cinema with a healthy dose of social distancing.

Next month, a drive-in cinema, called Drive & Dine Theatre, is coming to the Bath Racecourse, from Wednesday 8 July to Sunday 12 July.

Over the four-day period, the drive-in cinema will screen award-winning flicks including Mamma Mia! and The BFG, with ten films screening in total.

With both matinee and evening film screenings, there’s something for everyone.

The full list of films is: Jaws, Aladdin, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mamma Mia!, Le Mans 66, Knives Out, The BFG, Back To The Future and Grease.

The drive-in experience is also hosting Mark Watson's Carpool Comedy Club, which will feature an eclectic collection of popular stand-up comics.

At Bath Racecourse, audience members will get to have a giggle with the likes of Ed Bryne, Shappi Khorsandi and Ed Gamble.

Catch Mark Watson's Carpool Comedy Club at the Bath Racecourse on Saturday 9 July.

Unsurprisingly, the Drive & Dine Theatre isn’t just about film - it has food, too.

Whilst watching an 80s flick, action movie or a family favourite, tuck into a tasty dish from an exclusive menu curated by Michelin-starred Chef Tom Kerridge.

The menu includes delicious mains and desserts, and has been inspired by old-school American drive-ins. Check out the menu here

So how does it all work? Once you purchase your tickets, you’ll receive an email with the menu, and instructions on how to order food.

And when you arrive on site, you’ll be directed to a socially-distanced parking bay.

Then you’ll be able to get your in-car speaker system, whilst food and drink will be served straight to your car without contact, and staff will be dressed in full PPE.

It’s one car per booking, and ticket prices are per person. Even better, children under three go free! Book your tickets here
